Joan Cornellà Vázquez is a cartoonist and illustrator famous for his unsettling and black humorous comic strips as well as artwork. Inspired by comedy, comics and graphic humourhis,his work revels in its absurdity and impropriety.
Joan Cornellà Vázquez是一位漫画家和插画家，以其令人不安和黑色幽默的漫画以及艺术品而闻名。受到喜剧、漫画和图形幽默的启发，他的作品充满了荒谬和不正当。
The “cute, cartoonish” art in Cornellà’s works actually reveal a lot of troubling social issues .Containing a lot of unexpected, dark and humorous twists that take audiences by surprise. Everything from our unnatural connection to social media and meaningless selfie culture to political topics such as abortion, addiction and gender issues – no subject is off limits.

Thought-provoking, honest and incredibly entertaining, Cornellà’s work is truly holds real potency in its message, even when disguised through blatant humor. In his comics characters are like plastic and always have a big smile even though horrible things happen to them constantly. In his own words: “I think we all laugh at misery. We must start from the idea that when we laugh, we laugh at someone or something. With empathy or not, there is always some degree of cruelty. In spite of that, I am aware that if one of my cartoons happened in real life I would not laugh at all”.
Cornellà的作品發人深省，誠實且具有令人難以置信的娛樂性，即使在透過幽默進行偽裝，他的作品也具有真正的影響力。在他的漫畫中，人物就像塑膠材質一樣，即使他們經常發生可怕的事情，卻總是笑容滿面。用他自己的話來說：“我想我們都在嘲笑苦難。我們必須從這樣的想法開始，當我們笑的時候，我們就是在嘲笑特定的某人或某事。無論是否有同理心，總會有一定程度的殘忍。儘管如此，我知道如果我的一部漫畫發生在現實生活中，我就不會笑“。
